FAQs

Incident Response: frequently asked questions

Our website has been hacked. What should we do first?

Do not delete files or restore blindly, because that destroys evidence and the attacker may still have access. Change critical passwords from a clean device, keep a copy of the current state and call us; we will guide you through containment.

Should we pay a ransomware demand?

Payment does not guarantee recovery and may fund further attacks. We first check whether data can be restored from backups or known decryptors and help you evaluate options with your legal and insurance advisers.

Do we have to report the incident?

Many incidents must be reported to CERT-In within six hours of noticing them, and personal data breaches carry obligations under the DPDP Act. We help you document and report correctly.

Can we keep you on retainer?

Yes. An incident response retainer gives you agreed response times, pre-approved access and a playbook tailored to your environment, so help starts immediately.
